PlasticTecnic have kickstarted a small initiative to reduce our water consumption by implementing our very own rainwater harvesting system, made by our staff. Our rainwater harvesting system was made with pipes, simple filtration system to remove big particles and reusing our plastic drum to store 400L of rainwater. As rainwater harvesting is highly dependent on weather, we managed to harvest less than 80L across a few days during low rain season. Therefore, our rainwater is mainly used for watering our plant or simple washing.

Rainwater harvesting not only reduce cost but also benefits the environment in several ways :-
• Reduces stormwater runoff from a property which reduces contamination of surface water with sediment, metals and fertilizer
• Reduce storm’s peak flow volume and velocity in local streams and rivers, which reduces potential risk for streambank erosion
• Rainwater does not contain any fluoride or chlorine which is a healthier water option for the plant
• Increase water conservation
